The Fencing Federation of South Africa (FFSA) is the governing body of the sport of fencing in South Africa. We are affiliated to the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASOC). We strive to improve the sport of fencing in South Africa.

Through regular national competitions held around the country, our fencers are ranked, and this provides the selection criteria for South African team selection to participate in continental and international events. These competitions include three age groups – Cadets (U17), Juniors (U20) and Seniors. All three fencing disciplines, ie Epee, Foil and Sabre are contested at these competitions.

We hold two annual South African National Championship events, one for Senior fencers and the other for Juniors (U20 and lower age groups). The Junior National Championships is the only National competition offering U11, U13 and U15 events to allow our emerging young talent to fence against other same aged kids from around the country to test their skills.
